Let's Climb!!! Outside!!!
Fall is in the air… The temps are cooling down at night and in the morning.
Its time! Rock climbing outside in the fall is the best. We are excited to rally people on a little day trip out to Burny Limestone Crags aka "the Shredding". After we get hot and tired of climbing, we plan on driving a couple miles down the road to jump in the creek. There is an amazing waterfall and natural water slide to go down. It's the perfect way to cool down with some fun.
Details:
Meeting at Shasta Rock Club and then car pooling out from there at 12pm SHARP!! We will be leaving the parking lot at 12:15pm. Please be on time. The drive is about 30-45mins depending on if there is road work out there still. I would like to be back in Redding by 6-6:30pm… the end time is flexible for those who might have other plans later.
Things to Bring:
- Plenty of water and snacks.
- Climbing gear if you have it - rope, quick draws, harness, climbing shoes, chalk bag & belay device. More gear the better, in case people don't have the equipment (bring extra if you have it). If you need the essentials (shoes, harness, belay device, chalk bag) go to Sports Ltd. They had shoes on sale and they are amazing people.
- Sun screen, hat and towel.
- Swimming clothes
- Hiking shoes and warm weather clothes
You don't have to be an experienced climber to join us. We welcome first time climbers and adventurist who want to learn. Climbing is for everyone. It's challenging physically and mentally. If this idea scares you, then you should come!
