With the ever present drought conditions Shasta Lake level has dropped to expose the old SP rail road tunnel #5 along with the truss bridge over the river channel. I went up to the lake Friday 9-12-2014 with a group of kayakers to explore this historic tunnel.
The tunnel #4 is supposed to be three times as long as #5 but until the lake drops more it is still hidden.
